Definitely one of the more exciting endings for Sherlock and Watson.

The tenth short story in The Return of Sherlock Holmes by Arthur Conan Doyle. Sherlock Holmes investigates a murder. An entertaining mystery.

Another brief Holmes investigation in which a man has been killed in a study but leaves no clues as to where she went. Her golden pince-nez glasses are what Holmes uses as well as cigarette ash to solve this one. No character development because of it being a short story, but Doyle assumes everyone reading this is familiar with Holmes and Watson.

This murder mystery is solved with some fun detective work - even more than usual. In this short story, we are introduced to a young detective that Sherlock is mentoring.

A past betrayal ends with the death of two innocents. Holmes solves the mystery of the wearer of the golden pince-nez and sees justice done to a young man who was wrongfully sentenced to work the salt mines of Siberia.

Holmes solves a case by smoking a lot.
