كتاب جيد ككل حكايات متنوعة معظمها جيد لكن غير منطقية تماما ربما تحتاج سن اصغر أو مرونة أكثر لقراءتها أكثر جزا اعجبني حكايات من أفغانستان اشعر بانها الجزء الوحيد الذي استطيع قراءته كقصص متكاملة لكن الباقي نهايتها معظمها سحرية في اخر 3 سطور من القصةA difficult review to write. The stories were well told, or retold, but for me they did not quite work. Perhaps the presence, and power, of magic was just too pervasive - anything was possible and thus nothing really mattered. I'd be interested in knowing how representative these tales were of the respective storytelling traditions - principally Arabic, Iranian, Afghan and Indian.

An amazing collection of tales. Some with elements you would find in folk tales around the rest of the world too.



Great collection of folk tales from the Middle East, Iran, Turkey, Arabia and Afghanistan. Beautifully retold and each story captures the reader's imagination. Definitely recommend if you like folk tales from around the world:)

A derlightfuil mix of short tales with reaccurung themes.

This book is amazing. Want to read a story about a cowardly prince who journeys far and wide to escape battling a leopard to earn his birthright? Three boys born from walnuts? Or a feisty pebble? This is your book.
