This version of Cinderella is the one I remember as a little kid. It uses simplistic syntax and diction, and is an ideal book for a bedtime reading. It features the classic Cinderella tale, but is geared toward a younger audience. Unfortunately, it promotes the "Disney Princess" ideal once again. I feel that a female who is black, lesbian, big-boned, or hates wearing dresses would not relate to the main character Cinderella. That doesn't make it a bad book, but I think it potentially sets up young women with false ideals they need to try to attain.
