It all started with a mysterious letter left at a tiny bookstore for authors Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black. Its closing lines: "We just want people to know about this. The stuff that has happened to us could happen to anyone." Little could they imagine the remarkable adventure that awaited them as they followed Jared, Simon, and Mallory Grace and a strange old book into a world filled with elves, goblins, dwarves, trolls, and a fantastical menagerie of other creatures. The oddest part is in entering that world, they didn't leave this one!

Evaluation Containing Books The Spiderwick Chronicles Box Set (The Spiderwick Chronicles #1-5)
This was the first time that I have read this series and I'm so glad that I did. It's a series written for children, but I think it can be enjoyed by anyone. It has excellent writing, believable characters, and a fun (but sometimes spooky) story. We follow the three Grace children: Jared, his twin Simon, and their older sister Mallory. Along with their mother, the three children move into an old estate owned by a relative, and what they find is not what they expected. A new world is opened to

Voto reale/real rating: 3,5/5Eng: I found this book while I was searching for the movie. I thought it was something like the Neverending story: children going into the magic world because of a book but this time it was different because the magic world found the children because of the book. There were a lot of pictures and also a little part where they were colored. I really liked this book but I think I'm too old for this and also that the plot wasn't the most original 8there are a lot of

so, we're at Lisa & Raul's for Christmas and they've got the recently released movie The Spiderwick Chronicles. They're blown away by the "lore" they've never heard of. None of it is "new" to me, but the movie was good, so I hunted down a copy of the omnibused stories to read...After Christmas, bought another 2 copies and sent them to Texas and Maryland for my sisters' young-uns to enjoy...

"After all, he was only at the beginning." Oh how I wish I read these books when I was kid, I would have absolutely adored them! Before going into this bind-up of the series, I was vaguely familiar with this story because of the movie made back in 2008. At the time I didnt know there were books the movie was based off of, and I honestly dont know why it took me 10 years to finally pick up the books. I personally know I would have preferred this book so much more when I was younger, but still

Though originally released separately, the five editions combined here form one stonkingly well-written, structured and plotted little children's fantasy novel. Jared, Simon and Mallory stumble across a whole hidden world of faeries when they find a Field Guide to fantastical things, and soon they are beset by boggarts and goblins and trolls and ogres and all manner of frightful (and delightful) things, making their life interesting. Told from the point of view mainly of Jared, with his hot

This was a very fun series to read. The books are short (only 100 pages each or so, including pages of beautiful illustrations that add to the overall enjoyment) and each book ends on a bit of a cliffhanger, so you really need to read the whole series to enjoy it. Three siblings (twin boys and their older sister) move to a relative's old house with their mom and discover their great-great-uncle's book about goblins, dwarves, brownies, elves, etc. - and these creatures live in the land but are

This is one of the most interesting series I read as a child. It also sits very high up on my list of books Id hoped to see as films only to be disappointed (as so often seems to be the case). Its such an interesting story and you really do need to sit it out until the very end to find out how things play out. Each book contains its own story whilst adding to the continuous story throughout. As a whole, one of my favourite childhood reads.
