Chronicle As Books Reckless

From a crumbling fairy-tale castle on the stormy Sussex coast to a dazzling, dizzying masquerade ball comes an enchanting tale of a tarnished knight, a daring maiden, and a sweet, searing storybook love...

At sixteen, Phoebe Layton had imagined that Gabriel Banner was a brave and valiant knight, a noble-hearted hero born to rescue ladies in distress. Which is why, eight years later, when she desperately needed help to carry out a vital quest, she could think of no one more suited than Gabriel.

But when she lures her shining knight to a lonely midnight rendezvous, Phoebe finds herself sparring with a dangerously desirable man who is nothing like the hero of her dreams. And when he sweeps her into a torrid and blatantly unchivalrous embrace, she can't help but fear that she's made a dreadful mistake. It's a kiss that will seal Phoebe's fate. For now the exacting Earl of Wylde has a quest of his own--to possess the most intriguing, impulsive, outrageous female he has ever met...even if he has to slay a dragon to do it.

Judge About Books Reckless
Ugh. This book made me so ANGRY. Livid, in fact. The kind of angry that makes me want to destroy furniture, maybe hulk smash something. Or both. I'm going to admit right off the bat that this book contains my least favorite romance trope. The good ol' revenge plot. If I'd known, I wouldn't have read it. I've never been a fan and honestly, I have no idea why it's even a thing. I find nothing romantic about it in the least. I just don't get it. "I'm a terrible person bent on doing something

I like that both main characters like to collect old books of medieval literature. The adventure and mystery kept me intrigued. The character's chemistry is hot.

I like Amanda Quick, but this is not her best novel. Really blah.

It was yet another great book by Amanda Quick, it contained love, adventure and mystery. I have to say that I loved it, it was humorous, and in a way different, the heroine could be counted as a different type of usual blue stocking, one who is in to literature.I loved the main couple, Phoebe was the humorous element in the story, her antics and adventures was what made me smile most of the time, especially her family's and her husband's reaction to it, specifically the scene when he had a bet

I managed to slip this gloriously trashy novel into the last week of my school holiday reading. Quick is always entertaining; much tongue-in-cheek, bodice busting romance.

Such a fun and happy book with a delightful heroine. I have to be in the mood (ahem), but when I am, these Amanda Quick books hit the spot.

Reckless4 StarsThe revenge/ secrets tropes have the potential of going seriously wrong. Thankfully, Quick does an admirable job of keeping the angst to a minimum by writing two of the most straightforward characters in Romanclandia. Phoebe is a delightful heroine who is incapable of keeping her opinions to herself for even one second and Gabriel's armor might be tarnished, but he is a knight nevertheless. The first half of the storyline revolving around Gabriel's history with Phoebe and her
