Apocalypse Dawn: The Earth's Last Days: The Battle Begins (Left Behind: Apocalypse #1)
Left behind series verrrry predictable infused unnaturally with Biblical references
I thought it was well written. I loved the God-sightings the characters experienced!

Despite the good review, I really struggled to get through this one. I had picked up all 4 books in the series and was surprised how much larger this book physically is than the other 3- easily double the size of the rest of the series. This book moves really slow, between state-side drama and overseas action at the time of the rapture. Oddly I think part of it is formatting- each page is a solid block of text, unlike other novels that space out dialog, etc. Not a bad book, but not enjoyable for
It was a little hard for me to get into this book. Some of the military jargon went right over my head, and I got a little tired of all the descriptions of guns and tanks. Overall a good story though.
A little slow and overly hokey-religious at first but it picked up and had a pretty awesome finish. The ending was like The Devil's Advocate mixed in with a Tom Clancy book. Pretty fun! This was the best free Kindle book I downloaded to date.
"Apocalypse Dawn", the first book in the "Left Behind: Apocalypse" series, is a (mostly) wartime military thriller that takes a different look at the end-times troubles, as portrayed in the "Left Behind" series (by LaHaye and Jenkins). It mixes a LOT of military war machine details (vocabulary, acronyms, weapons, etc.) with the sudden unexplainable (to most people) disappearances which signal the Rapture and the beginning of the End Times Tribulations period. DecentI found this in my library and didnt have another book to read. I will continue reading the series. I think they have potential to be good. I like that the author followed the original series with a new storyline.Left behind series verrrry predictable infused unnaturally with Biblical references
