The Coveted (The Unearthly #2)
When a body shows up near Peel Academy, all signs indicate the killer is a vampire. Ravaged throat, body drained of blood. At least that’s all it appears to be when the Politia, the supernatural police force, assigns Gabrielle to the case. Now it’s Gabrielle’s job to figure out who did it.
But after a second body turns up with the same lethal wounds, it’s clear that a serial killer is stalking the island. The murders have compromised the truce between the Politia and vampires, and as long as the killer roams free, it is in danger of dissolving. If that happens, no vampire is safe from persecution, not even Gabrielle.
Now Gabrielle must team up with Andre, her soulmate and the one person she’s tried to stay away from, to investigate the murders before the truce dissolves. And keeping her distance is proving to be impossible.
But Gabrielle has a bigger problem. The world of the dead know about her, and their whispers hint that something is coming for her. And it’s coming soon.
Bought the second book in this series within a hour of finishing the first one. I absolutely love the chemistry between Gabrielle and Andre. Awesome book. I am dying for the next one!
2.5 stars because of OliverCan we just shut Oliver up, he irks me. He is selfish and self centered and considering he's a secondary character he does get a lot of scene time. The author was probably go for a light gay fairy character that provides the comic relief or something but Oliver is not it, he's making me want to dnf.Gabrielle is almost raped and what does Oliver do, he asks her if the guy had nice man bits, he moves into her room so that when the next encounter happens he can snag the

2.5 stars.I started off liking this book a lot more than the first one, and I was pretty into it. Then I got to page 70ish and that changed.I AM SICK OF AUTHORS WRITING SEXUAL HARASSMENT/ASSAULT/RAPE INTO A BOOK, BUT ACTING AS IF THAT'S NOT WHAT IT WAS AND HAVING THE CHARACTERS IGNORE IT!!!Gabrielle literally woke up in the middle of the night to a naked man on top of her, attempting to sway her into having sex with him. She had to kick him off of her and she screams. But she isn't shaken by it,
This quote from 84% really sums up what I have been thinking since book one: "This was one of those moments where I really wished I knew more about how this world worked." Thats right ladies and gentleman, right from the FMC's mouth right there! This is the main problem I have with these stories. The FMC has no idea what she is doing, or what she is stepping off in. She just runs off half cocked, living on a prayer.. with no knowledge, and seemingly no desire to get the knowledge necessary to
Can't wait foe book 3 OK so I was hard on the first book but this second book was AMAZING! Gabrielle was stronger in this and more brave and I really Appreciated all her efforts and accomplishments and the loyalty of her friends and their devotion is something to be reckoned with and that type of friendship portray a true bond as well as true love with Andre!
I don't even know what to say about this book. Actually yes I do it was AMAZING. I am signed up to the newsletter so as soon as I found out the book was finally released I bought it right away. I just love Gabrielle and Andre's relationship and as the book progressed I found myself actually in awe over it. I love this series so much I would have to say it's pretty high up on my favorites list and I can't wait for the next installment.

I liked that the book has Vampires, (Andre kinda kept me reading on... he's got the "it" /King thing going. Plus, there are lots of other super-naturals, and Gabriella is learning to use more of her powers. So, it still reminds me of "Harriette Potter" meets Twilight, with shifters , a funny fairy, and lots of "bad guys"... the Devil, even... trying to kidnap or kill our heroine. I just don't like her personality much (still), and both she and her friends can be annoying... found myself skippingBought the second book in this series within a hour of finishing the first one.
