Explanation As Books Second Soul
It started with an accident. Michael “Bowie” Carmichael was skiing when he veered off course and into the waterfall. Freezing beneath its icy waters, he could only watch as new tragedy was struck. Not far from where his brain was slowly shutting down a bus full of people met their fiery end. Nineteen people burned to death while Bowie turned to ice. Revived and taken to the hospital, Bowie is met with news of how lucky he is to be alive, but something happened on the verge of his near death. A vast and terrible thing turned its inhuman gaze upon him. A hole in the universe with a plan for Bowie and the nineteen souls that died along with him. Now Bowie must find a way to exorcise his ghosts before they exorcise him. This is one of those books you find in a bargain bin and think ‘this sounds pretty good’, and you know what? It actually is.
This is one of those rare gems that doesn’t get the attention it deserves. This is a very well written ghost story. There are many interesting scenes that manage to impart a growing sense of dread as Bowie struggles to deal with his otherworldly visitors, especially when it starts to effect what he is writing, and the ending really tied it all together.
A really good story of possession and souls. This remains one of my all-time favourite book bin finds.

Muddled plot and too much description makes this a really boring tale.Mostly "meh". There were something interesting things about this book, but there were a lot more things that left me wondering when it was going to get interesting. And I really don't understand why Beckie would just instantly believe Micheal's story and pretty much go along happily with whatever he wanted to do. Yes, she's grieving, but he's a total stranger, and not entirely coming across as sane.
Different and interesting.
