Casting the First Stone by Kimberla Lawson Roby is a masterful presentation of creative writing. Ms. Roby is very inventive and uses great imagination in portraying the characters and situations of her story. In this novel, she vividly described the fraught lives of a married couple who struggles to remain faithful to each other in their Christian walk. Tanya, who is presupposed to have achieved a degree of life success, is married to Curtis, a charismatic pastoral husband who is laden with someYall! The Rem and First Lady of Faith Missionary Baptist Chutch!! (I spelled all of that correctly. If you dont speak Southern Baptist, you wont get it, lol) They done stressed me OUT! This was a very entertaining, drama-filled read. It was a bit different than my deeply emotional reads-I read romance for crying out loud-but it was good. It was a sort of pick me up coming off of my read before this one, and it didnt disappoint! Ive had my eye on this series for almost a year, and Im glad that
Pretty good read. This book is about the wayward life of pastor Curtis Black.

wow, what can I say about this book apart from it being awesome...but seriously though, I was captivated from beginning to end. As the pages I read increased, the more I did not want this book to end but on the other hand I wanted desperately to find out a lot of things. I loved the suspense she brought into this book as well as that sense of realness that was added. I learned such things as no man has the right to judge another human being, everybody sins and fall short of the glory of God, God
If you like drama and I mean drama this is a perfect book to read. Tanya is married to Curtis Black a "wanna-be" all that preacher of an african-american baptist church. Girlfriend should have got a dog instead, at least they are loyal. She is in a bad marriage trying to work thru things and live a christian life. But sometimes you just can not turn the other cheek. I think the message had good intent but I just could not relate to the characters. Yes, women be strong, be true to yourself above
Tanya Black has a perfect life. She has a fulfilling career, a nice home, and an ideal family. All this seems to come crashing down when she finds out her husband is not as "ideal" as she thought. Tanya find out secrets about her husband that alters her life in every way imaginable. Through struggles and problems, she learns a great deal about love, life, and pain. The author uses the following craft in her writing: Creating characters, voice and tension. The author does an exceptional job at
This was the first Christian fiction book I've read and I must say that it was full of drama and scandal that I really wasn't expecting. This was the second book that I've read by this author and this book compared to Behind Closed Doors was just okay; I thought that book was amazing. I just felt like Tanya took too much from Curtis. While I understand that she wanted to do everything to make her marriage work, there comes a point that you just have to let it go when you clearly see that the
