If you could give 1/2 stars this would be a 3.5 for me. I really wanted to like this book, but after reading Ice Queen, Mirror of my Soul, and Rough Canvas which were to me mind-blowingly good, this was just meh for me. There were a couple things that bothered me - Ok Chloe went through some scary stuff but I'm not sure it warranted the type of spiral into total darkness she was in. Although this wasn't my favorite in the Nature of Desire series (so far, my fav's would be: Natural Law, Mirror of My Soul/Ice Queen, and Rough Canvas), the depth and scope of the writing is leaps and bounds over so much of the erotic romance out there. I'd give it four stars for a Joey W. Hill, but it's a 5+ anywhere else. Huge 5 Stars!!!I LOVED everything about this book! Simply put, it OWNS my heart.

Loved itI love this series, the characters, emotions, and stories. I've read this book multiple times as well as listened on audio. I find myself crying every time. This book is so raw and real. Exactly what I have come to expect from this author. Although this can be read as a stand alone you get so much more if you've at least read Ice Queen and Mirror of my Soul prior to reading this.

Weak and angsty heroineLove this series but Chloe was too much of a drama queen and caught up to deeply in two MINOR attacks from her past. Compared to Marguerite she's a major wuss. Loved Brendon in the other books but would have liked to see his point of view rather than all Chloe's crazy messed up thinking that was tiresome.
